California Association of LAFCOs (CALAFCO)
Interested in what LAFCOs from around the state are doing? CALAFCO provides contact information for California's 58 LAFCOs and is a great resource for information involving LAFCO related activities.

California State Association of Counties (CSAC)
The primary purpose of CSAC is to represent county government before the California Legislature, administrative agencies and the federal government. CSAC places a strong emphasis on educating the public about the value and need for county programs and services.

League of California Cities
The League of California Cities is an association of California city officials who work together to enhance their knowledge and skills, exchange information, and combine resources so that they may influence policy decisions that affect cities.

California Special District Association (CSDA)
CSDA is a 501c(6), not-for-profit association that was formed in 1969 to promote good governance and improved core local services through professional development, advocacy, and other services for all types of independent special districts. For 50 years, CSDA has been offering its members cost-efficient programs and representation at the State Capitol and boasts a membership of over 1,000 organizations throughout California.

Legislative Analyst's Office Office (LAO)
LAO serves as a non-partisan research resource for the California Legislature.  This includes preparing annual reviews on the Governor's proposed budgets, analyzing all statewide ballot and initiative measures, and issuing special reports on topics of interests to the Legislature. 

Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR)
OPR provides policy support for the Governor’s Office. This includes issuing publications on relating to planning, growth management, and legislative issues in California.

Local Government Commission (LGC)
LGC is a non-profit organization that provides research and policy ideas for various growth issues affecting California, including transportation, economic development, and community design.

Strategic Growth Council (SGC)
SGC coordinates the activities of State agencies and partners with stakeholders to promote sustainability, economic prosperity, and quality of life for all Californians.

Regional

Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG)
A member of California's Council of Governments, ABAG serves as a comprehensive planning agency on behalf of the nine counties and 100 cities within the Bay Area. ABAG offers regional and local information involving issues affecting the Bay Area, including housing, economic development, and environmental issues.

Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)

MTC is responsible for regularly updating a regional transportation plan covering the entire San Francisco Bay Area that serves as the comprehensive blueprint for the development of mass transit, highway, airport, seaport, railroad, bicycle and pedestrian facilities throughout the region.  MTC also screens requests from local agencies for state and federal grants for transportation projects to determine their compatibility the plan.

Greenbelt Alliance
The Greenbelt Alliance envisions a Bay Area where the natural and agricultural lands that provide so much to our region are protected and where everyone can live in a thriving neighborhood that they are proud to call home. For more than 60 years, Greenbelt Alliance has shaped the amazing places of the Bay Area.

Bay Area Greenprint
The Bay Area Greenprint is a tool that reveals the multiple benefits of natural and agricultural lands, empowering users to inform land use decisions with better data. The Bay Area Greenprint identifies, maps, and measures the values that natural resources contribute to the ecosystem, the economy, and the local and regional community.
